Cambridge, MA, April 15, 2017 — Weather Build, Inc., Decision Support Solutions for the Construction Industry & Built Environment™, is excited to announce the release of the WeatherBuild data dictionary for utility activities, standard construction activities and operations and maintenance (O&M) activities for numerous work results in the utility sector.

Organized in the following eight categories, the WeatherBuild data dictionary for utility activities is based on the MasterFormat standard of numbers and titles:

  1. Utilities
  2. Utilities – Communications
  3. Utilities – Electrical
  4. Utilities – Hydrocarbon
  5. Utilities – Hydronic and Steam Energy
  6. Utilities – Sanitary Sewage
  7. Utilities – Stormwater
  8. Utilities – Water

The WeatherBuild data dictionary for utility activities serves both contractors and owners with new construction projects and operations and maintenance (O&M) of existing assets.

For example, the “Utilities – Electrical” data dictionary includes standard construction activities and operations and maintenance (O&M) activities for the following work results:

  1. Electrical Utility Transmission and Distribution
  2. Utility Substations
  3. Utility Transformers
  4. Extra High Voltage (EHV) Switchgear and Protection Devices
  5. High-Voltage Switchgear and Protection Devices
  6. Medium-Voltage Utility Switchgear and Protection Devices
  7. Substation Converter Stations
  8. Site Grounding

As the generally accepted, information standard used throughout the construction industry and built environment in North America, the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) and Construction Specifications Canada (CSC) MasterFormat lists titles and section numbers for organizing data about work results and construction practices.

Further, the WeatherBuild data dictionary of standard construction activities complements schedule integration with project-specific schedule activities, enabling weather risk probability for each activity. For schedule integration, the WeatherBuild Solution is compatible with Oracle Primavera P6, MS Project and Excel, and many other formats.
