CAMBRIDGE, MA — WeatherBuild®, Decision Support Solutions for the Construction Industry and Built Environment™, published contract language for weather delays and extensions of time, and weather claims for additional time for your family of AIA Contract Documents, in cooperation with a leading law firm for contractors, owners and operators in numerous construction sectors.

Contract language for weather delays and extensions of time, and weather claims for additional time includes clauses for the following AIA Contract Documents: A201™-2007 General Conditions of the Contract for Construction; A201™-2007 SP General Conditions of the Contract for Construction, Sustainable Project; and, A201™-2017 General Conditions of the Contract for Construction.

Further, contract language for weather delays and extensions of time, and weather claims for additional time addresses the following two clauses in the American Institute of Architects AIA A201™ General Conditions of the Contract for Construction: first, ARTICLE 8 TIME, § 8.3 Delays and Extensions of Time; and second, ARTICLE 15 CLAIMS AND DISPUTES, § 15.1.5 Claims for Additional Time.

The American Institute of Architects AIA A201™ General Conditions of the Contract for Construction, “A201” or “General Conditions” are “…an integral part of the contract for construction for a large project… incorporated by reference into the owner/contractor agreement,” setting forth the rights, responsibilities, and relationships of the owner, contractor, and architect.

In the AEC (architecture – engineering – construction) industry, A201 or General Conditions are referred to as the “keystone document” or the “umbrella document” for design-bid-build (DBB) projects, as numerous DBB agreements refer to and incorporate by reference A201 or General Conditions in the owner/architect, owner/contractor, and contractor/subcontractor agreements, for example.

Fit for the conventional delivery approach of design-bid-build (DBB), the Conventional (A201) documents family is the most common family of AIA Contract Documents. Further, the Conventional (A201) documents family serves projects, small to large, where “…the owner’s project is divided into separate contracts for design (with the architect) and construction (with one or more contractors).”

AIA Contract Documents are divided into six alphanumeric series by document use or purpose, starting with the following A-Series Owner/Contractor Agreements: A101, A101SP, A102, A103, A105, A107, A121, A132, A132SP, A133, A133SP, A134, A134SP, A141, A142, A145, A151, A195, A201, A201SP, A221, A232, A232SP, A251, A295, A305, A310, A312, A401, A401SP, A441, A503, A521, A533, A701 and A751.
