A National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Weather-Ready Nation (WRN) Ambassador, WeatherBuild®, Decision Support Solutions for the Construction Industry and Built Environment®, supports the Weather-Ready Nation Fall Weather Safety campaign. The Fall Weather Safety campaign focuses outreach on specific hazards during the months of September, October, and November, through social media plans, infographics, videos, presentations, and other resources.

In support of the Fall Weather Safety campaign, social media plans for weather safety and weather risk management across the construction industry and built environment address floods, fog, hurricanes, tsunamis, wind, wildfire, and winter weather, for example. Weather safety infographics include snow ratio, snow squall, snowmelt process, streamflow routing and debris flow — mission critical for storm water pollution prevention plans (SWPPP) and environmental protection.

The Weather-Ready Nation (WRN) Fall Weather Safety presentation focuses on understanding risks and taking actions. For example, high intensity wind events and wind gust events are common during the fall season in many regions across the US. High Wind Warnings, High Wind Watches and High Wind Advisories provide early warning alerts to ensure safe and secure crane, hoisting, rigging and other equipment operations, construction activities and maintenance tasks.

As a Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador, WeatherBuild commits to the following best practices for weather safety and weather readiness for construction industry and built environment stakeholders:

  1. Promoting Weather-Ready Nation messages and themes to stakeholders
  2. Engaging with NOAA personnel on potential collaboration opportunities
  3. Sharing success stories of preparedness and resiliency
  4. Educating employees on workplace preparedness
