FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

February 4, 2019

Weather events, such as thunderstorms, lightning strikes, wind, wind gust, and wind at varying heights above ground level, endanger Ironworkers.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — WeatherBuild®Decision Support Solutions for the Construction Industry and Built Environment®, is proud to join the IMPACT Member Community. IMPACT (www.impact-net.org) is the Ironworker Management Progressive Action Cooperative Trust. The IMPACT Member Community is a new community built to meet the professional needs of IMPACT members for connecting and collaborating.

Representing a workforce that is well trained, drug free and professional providing the best quality and value available in the construction industry, the IMPACT membership consists of union Ironworker District Councils, Local Unions, Signatory Contractor Associations and Signatory Contractors across the United States and Canada divided into eleven geographic regions.

IMPACT is a partnership designed to provide a forum for Ironworkers, contractors and others to address mutual concerns and encourage reasonable balanced solutions. With its primary mission to expand job opportunities through progressive and innovative cooperative programs, the IMPACT Regional Advisory Boards promote industry-wide discussions and support effective strategies for resolving concerns.

By connecting members directly with other Ironworkers, contractors and service providers across an international network, the IMPACT Member Community enables members to ask questions and provide feedback on programs, events, products, and publications. Further, the IMPACT Member Community encourages members to share best practices and network with peers in a moderated global forum.

In the construction industry and built environment, adverse weather is one of the top three reasons for missed milestones, with negative impacts costing billions of dollars. WeatherBuild offers a suite of decision support solutions that empower contractors to improve situational awareness and make better-informed decisions about weather events, schedule impacts, safety risks and probable outcomes.

Weather events, such as thunderstorms, lightning strikes, wind, wind gust, and wind at varying heights above ground level, endanger Ironworkers, contractors and other outdoor workers across the construction industry. Accordingly, IMPACT’s mission and goals include to: “Develop educational programs to advance safety and health. Conduct research and perform studies to minimize hazards within the industry.”

About IMPACT

IMPACT is a partnership designed to provide a forum for Ironworkers and contractors to address mutual concerns and encourage reasonable balanced solutions.
