Risk assessments of schedule activities, equipment operations, and work results
CAMBRIDGE, MA — WeatherBuild®, Decision Support Solutions for the Construction Industry and Built Environment®, is proud to announce the release of a series of major enhancements to its weather maps for contractors, owners, and operators. Unlike generic services and consumer apps, WeatherBuild is purpose-built from the ground up by experienced construction technologists specifically for the construction industry and built environment. WeatherBuild’s weather maps complement the daily reports with risk assessments of schedule activities, equipment operations, and work results.
Displays downstream hazard potential and maximum storage
New features in the WeatherBuild’s weather maps include detailed layers such as railroads, streams, and dams, for example. Leveraging publicly-accredited data, the new dams layer shows regulated dams within the United States and for US territories. The quality-controlled data resolves duplicate and sometimes disparate data from about 70 different federal and state agencies. WeatherBuild’s dams layer displays both downstream hazard potential and maximum storage for risk management purposes.
2020 Water Resources Development Act or WRDA
In adjacent news about federal infrastructure measures, the House approved a bill authorizing at least $8.6 billion dollars in federal funds for 38 new Army Corps of Engineers construction projects. Corps construction projects include flood and storm protection, river and port navigation, and environmental restoration improvements. In July, the House passed the 2020 Water Resources Development Act or WRDA, with strong support from Transportation and Infrastructure Committee leaders.
Headquartered in Cambridge, MA between Harvard and MIT, WeatherBuild® offers a suite of decision support solutions that empower contractors, owners, and operators to improve situational awareness and make better-informed decisions about weather events, schedule impacts, safety risks, and probable outcomes.
