Cambridge, MA, May 15, 2017 — Weather Build, Inc., Decision Support Solutions for the Construction Industry & Built Environment™, is excited to announce the release of WeatherBuild Mobile Version 1.1.10 on the App Store. Enhancements to WeatherBuild Mobile include wind events at varying heights above ground level, also referred to as wind shear or wind gradient, based on customer feedback.
The new weather event types, wind events at varying heights, enable contractors, owners and operators to assess risks related to crane operations and other activities above ground level, such as construction activities, operations and maintenance (O&M) and repowering activities on wind turbines or high rises. Wind events leverage hyper-local weather data based on the exact geo-location of each asset or project.
On wind power projects, for example, it is critical for project team members to identify days and times, and tower locations and elevations to perform work at the down tower assembly and control cabinet, at the mid deck, at the yaw deck, or nacelle, hub and rotor. It is also important to identify days and times to reduce the rated lifting capacity of cranes, or park cranes and secure booms.
Also, wind events at varying heights enable project stakeholders to assess risks related to other construction aids, such as temporary hoists, temporary scaffolding and platforms, and temporary swing staging, and related to thermal and moisture protection, such as thermal protection, roofing and siding panels, membrane roofing, flashing and sheet metal, roof and wall specialties and accessories, etc.
