Enhancements to optimize the time frequency of severe weather reports and dangerous thunderstorm alerts

CAMBRIDGE, MA — WeatherBuild®, Decision Support Solutions for the Construction Industry and Built Environment®, is proud to announce the release of numerous feature enhancements and bug fixes to its severe weather reports and dangerous thunderstorm alerts. The new release leverages WeatherBuild’s proprietary technologies, including machine learning (ML) and predictive analytics, to optimize the time frequency of reports and alerts to each of your projects and sites across your capital programs and asset portfolios. Further, the new release with enhanced severe weather reports and dangerous thunderstorm alerts is based on customer feedback from some of the leading owners, operators and contractors across the construction industry and built environment and across the total asset lifecycle.

WeatherBuild’s dangerous thunderstorm alerts are 50% faster than other alerts!

As a part of the WeatherBuild solution, WeatherBuild automatically delivers dangerous thunderstorm alerts to project stakeholders in real-time, with up to 45 minutes of advanced alerting. Dangerous thunderstorm alerts leverage total lightning (both in-cloud or cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-ground) strike detection technologies, which provide team members with significantly better indications of storm severity when compared with cloud-to-ground strikes independently and with lightning sensor devices independently. 50% faster than other alerts, WeatherBuild’s dangerous thunderstorm alerts enable significant early warning capabilities on quickly forming storm cells and provide relevant storm parameter details such as speed, direction and lightning intensity. Strongly indicating the level of the storm danger, WeatherBuild’s dangerous thunderstorm alerts also include details such as lightning, heavy rain, microbursts, hail and tornadoes, for example.

OSHA and the OSH Act obligate employers to address hazards that cause death or serious harm to employees!

Further, dangerous thunderstorms and lightning strikes threaten the life safety of all outdoor operating personnel and can significantly damage permanent built assets, such as wind turbines, and temporary construction aids, such as heavy equipment. Accordingly, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA, www.osha.gov) and the Occupational Safety and Health Act or OSH Act obligate employers, including contractors, owners and operators, to address hazards that are causing or likely to cause death or serious harm to employees, such as dangerous thunderstorms and lightning strikes. The primary goal of the OSH Act is to reduce workplace hazards and implement safety and health programs for both employers and employees. Many of WeatherBuild’s customers are now integrating WeatherBuild’s severe weather reports, dangerous thunderstorm alerts, lightning strike alerts, and all clear notifications with project-specific emergency action plans (EAPs).
