CAMBRIDGE, MA — WeatherBuild®, Decision Support Solutions for the Construction Industry and Built Environment®, is proud to announce a series of enhancements to its data dictionary of standard construction activities, equipment operations and work results. Complementing schedule integration with Oracle and Trimble products, WeatherBuild’s data dictionary of activities, operations and results is organized by MasterFormat.
As the generally accepted, information standard used throughout the construction industry and built environment in North America, the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) and Construction Specifications Canada (CSC) MasterFormat lists titles and section numbers for organizing data about work results and construction practices, such as Division 05 Metals or 05 00 00 Metals for structural metal framing, metal joists, metal decking, etc.
As an example, WeatherBuild’s data dictionary with Division 05 Metals activities serves contractors performing metal and steel work. Further, ANSI/ASSE A10.13-2011 Safety Requirements for Steel Erection warns of safety risks when erecting steel structures and metal deck. Fall protection is the greatest safety challenge, as precipitation events, such as rain, snow, sleet, and hail, and frost events, can make metal and steel walking and working surfaces slippery.
