The theme of this year’s roundtable event is “Weather-Ready Nation’s Role in Advancing Social Equity,” to discuss gaps in services to vulnerable populations, best practices, and success stories.
Further, the WRN Ambassador Roundtable addresses the shared responsibilities of NOAA (The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, www.noaa.gov), the WWCE (World Wide Cultural Exchange, a Department of State designated sponsor, www.wwceusa.com), and other WRN Ambassadors toward advancing social equity.
The roundtable agenda includes: Welcome Remarks, NWS Director Remarks, WRN Ambassador Testimonials, FEMA’s “Alliance for Equity,” Ambassador Success Story, NOAA Climate Program Office: Urban Heat Island Research, and Social Science Research at CIMMS/NSSL (Cooperative Institute for Mesoscale Meteorological Studies/National Severe Storms Laboratory).
