New recommendations on preparing tower cranes for inclement weather

The Tower Cranes North America (TCNA, www.khl-tcna.com) Conference & Reception takes place in Miami, Florida on June 18th and June 19th, 2018 at the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay. Tower Cranes North America is a new conference for North America’s fast-growing tower crane industry, addressing a wide range of mission critical topics such as severe weather preparation.

Tower Cranes North America will provide owners and buyers of tower cranes with essential information including: trends in tower crane technology; regulations concerning tower cranes; world-class rental management; tower crane safety; and, new applications for tower cranes, from numerous subject matter experts across the tower crane and rigging industry.

A must-visit event for the region’s tower crane community, providing a unique networking and learning opportunity, the Tower Cranes North America event will be targeted at a broad spectrum of crane industry stakeholders: tower crane owners and buyers; rental companies; contractors; crane dealers/distributors; crane manufacturers; and, regulatory authorities.

Given the weather risks to safety and productivity in crane and rigging operations across the construction industry, crane owners, users and suppliers will be discussing key topics including: severe weather preparation, minimizing contractual risks, and the benefits of hook cameras and other worksite sensors and data, to improve situational awareness for crane crews in the field.

Peter Juhren, chairman, SC&RA Tower Crane Committee and vice president of operations, Morrow Equipment Co. (www.morrow.com) will be addressing severe weather preparation during a presentation on “New recommendations on preparing tower cranes for inclement weather,” followed by the vice president and general manager of Terex Tower Cranes.

The SC&RA Tower Crane Committee (www.scranet.org) “…takes an active and progressive role in establishing best practices and providing the information necessary to reduce workplace accidents and injuries.  The committee will review, address and provide guidance regarding relevant issues, accidents and best practices within the tower crane industry…” such as severe weather preparation.

The event is organized by KHL Group (www.khl.com) and its magazines American Cranes & Transport (AC&T, www.americancranesandtransport.com) and International Cranes and Specialized Transport. The Partner Association for the event is the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA, www.scranet.org). Engineering News-Record (ENR, www.enr.com) is the media partner.
